Split cut selvedge: The split selvedge was a signature of Lee 101Zs. I’ve always loved that detail so I decided to incorporate it in this very unique 1o oz selvedge denim from Kaihara. With split selvedge the self-edge of the denim is present on the front panel and back the panel shows an overlock stitch. By doing a ‘split cut’ you are using more of the denim per pant, in doing so it also minimizes wasted denim during the manufacturing process.
